Welcome to our 2008 Flu Stop program.  VNA is hosting a variety of convenient and fun ways to receive your annual flu vaccination this year.  See below for a listing of our events-and please be sure to visit our new web at www.saveyoursickdays.com for fun ways to spend your sick days without the flu!

Welcome to our 2008 FLU STOP program...

Over 100 million doses are projected to be available this season produced by 5 vaccine manufacturers.  The formulation includes 3 new strains, a rare occurrence.  Seasonal flu vaccines do not protect against avian flu, which is caused by different viral strains.  

2008-2009 Vaccine Strains 
A/Brisbane/59/2007 (H1N1)-like virus
A/Brisbane/10/2007 (H3N2)-like virus
B/Florida/4/2006-like virus

Flu Vaccinations for Infants Age 6 to 35 Months & Pregnant Women

Due to new Missouri legislature, pregnant women or children less than 3 years of age can only receive Preservative Free flu vaccine. Click here to view the Missouri Statute 

Before you visit our events, remember...
• You cannot receive a flu vaccine if you have ever had a severe allergic to the flu shot, eggs, egg/chicken products, Thimerosal or latex products, if you currently have a fever or respiratory illness, if you have ever had Guillain-Barre’ Syndrome or if you currently have an active, uncontrolled neurological disease.
• All children 17 years & under must be accompanied by a parent or grandparent.
• Wear a short sleeve shirt on the day of the shot.
• For less waiting, visit our events after 11 a.m.
• Children age 8 years & under receiving a flu vaccine for the 1st time will need a 2nd flu vaccine 30 days after the 1st.
