SHIRLEY ZEFFREN SCHOLARSHIP FOR OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY
Application deadline is March 1, 2013
To be considered for this scholarship of up to $2,500, an applicant must meet the following criteria at time of application. The applicant must: 1) be a student residing in the St. Louis metropolitan area; 2) be accepted in the master’s degree program of Occupational Science/Occupational Therapy at Saint Louis University; 3) be in good standing academically; 4) have demonstrated leadership characteristics as a student; 5) demonstrate a commitment to community service and health care.
This scholarship is awarded in honor of Mrs. Shirley Fredman Zeffren, BS, OT, who graduated from the Occupational Therapy Program at Washington University, St. Louis, in 1952. She was employed as an occupational therapist by Visiting Nurse Association in June 1969, where she continued to serve as a staff occupational therapist for nearly 30 years. Throughout her professional experience, Mrs. Zeffren also served in consultant or staff positions at several rehabilitation facilities and nursing homes in the City of St. Louis until her retirement in December, 1998.
To apply for the Shirley Fredman Zeffren Scholarship for Occupational Therapy:
- Submit a copy of completed FAFSA report by March 1, 2013.
- Complete the scholarship application and submit along with completed faculty recommendation (in a sealed envelope).
- Attach a cover letter to the application materials and submit by March 1, 2013 to
