My Plate: Learn the importance of making healthy food choices. Learn how to enjoy your food, but eat less by avoiding oversized portions. Improve your nutrition while decreasing far, salt, and sugar. Learn the importance of reading the labels and compare sodium and fat in processed foods including soup, bread and bottled drinks.
Activity Pyramid: Discuss Easy Ways to Increase Your Activity Each Week. Learn the importance of exercise and how to find creative ways to get active and stay active. Change your activity routine to avoid getting bored.
Diabetes Management: How Are You Doing? Learn the importance of regular testing and taking your medication correctly to prevent the complications of diabetes. Get information about A1C, diet and activity.
Review Your Medications and Over-the-Counter (OTC) Medication. Learn the importance of taking your medications correctly and potential interactions between medications. Bring your prescription information with you!
Sleep Requirements and Patterns. Inadequate sleep is associated with chronic diseases and conditions. Sleep apnea is a common that can cause you to not get enough sleep. Learn the importance of sleep to your overall health and wellness.
Stress Management. Emotional stress and anxiety make the heart work harder. Everyone has certain stress-causing "triggers"—things such as rush-hour traffic, a demanding boss, finances or family conflict. Discuss ways to manage the stress in your life.
Medical Nutrition Therapy. Employees can schedule a meeting with a Registered Dietitian for a nutrition assessment and intervention. Education, counseling and meal planning is provided to individuals with chronic health conditions such as diabetes, heart disease or high blood pressure.
